Quilting with the Big Shot!
September 15, 2010
One of my favorite things to do is quilt. I started a friendship quilting group about 11 years ago, and we had such a great time together sharing our love of quilts, and of the process of making them. When I became a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator 4 years ago, I wasn't able to keep up with my quilting like I would like... there just wasn't enough time in the day!
AND THEN! I discovered that I could use the Big Shot to cut out appliques and designs that could be used on quilts! YIPPEE! How much fun is that? AND! How quick! Now I have time for stamping AND quilting!
Here are some quilts and some other items that I have made, and some dear friends have made too...ALL with the Big Shot!
I just love this quilt! Would you believe that I made the top in just one day?? Its true! I used the "Lattice" die cut to make the blocks. My dear friend Kristen Evans quilted it for me.. I love how she meandered on it! Do you just love it? Would you like to know more? Contact me if you are interested in learning to make a quilt like this. I am considering teaching quilt classes (this quilt would require two classes) and would love to hear from you if you are interested.
I love this little table quilt! Would you believe it took me just 7 minutes to cut out all the fabric circles with the Big Shot? isn't that amazing? Can you imagine how long it would take to cut all those circles accurately? But with the Big Shot, it goes so quickly.. and is perfectly cut! I used the "Circles 2" die to do the cutting. My dear friend Nancy Bishop
assembled the quilt for me.
This quilt was made with the Bigz Clear Die "Flower". I made this quilt top in a day! It is made with the new Stampin' Up! fabric and matching buttons! Isn't it darling? I love the scallops on each end.. they are a little hard to see in the picture. My friends at "Cranberry Quiltworks" did the quilting for me.
Would you love to make this quilt for Valentine's Day? Are you interested in making this quilt? Let me know if you are interested. It would take 2 class sessions to make the quilt top.
Is this apron cute or what? The bib of the apron was made with the "3-point star die" the "Scallops circle #2 die" and the "Leaves #2" die. This lovely apron and its matching table runner were made by my dear friend Sue Kurzbard.
Here's the matching table runner!
Isn't this little outfit so cute? Tina, a dear friend from my qult group, loves her Big Shot and decorated this cute jeans and T-shirt for me! She used the "Flower Folds" die.
